Originated in 2014, Francesco Pierazzi Architects is an award winning design led practice with a rapidly growing and diverse catalogue of completed projects in the UK and internationally.
Designs to date vary from substantial interior urban refurbishments and remodelling, small extensions, furniture design, exhibitions and international competitions.
Francesco Pierazzi Architects strongly believe that story telling is at the centre of each project. The narrative may derive from the client’s brief or surrounding area. The composition is uniquely formed to visually realise and deliver each individual story through the arrangement of spaces, the modulation of light and the interpretation of the materials selected.
Projects become an opportunity to celebrate the ordinary and the extraordinary.
Furthermore, our approach to solving the client’s needs and ambitions has become a starting point for ongoing research into the rituals of the inhibition of domestic and urban spaces, no matter how seemingly mundane or complex.
A sense of movement and dynamism is often found in our projects as we strongly believe that a space with dynamic qualities can enhance people’s spirits and contribute to engage with the space.
Passionately routed in the principles of Modernism, our processes explore the innovative use of traditional materials, the symbiotic relationship of arts and architecture and the use of phenomenology as a design tool while maintaining a synergetic dialogue with our clients.
Our beliefs are underpinned by a profound respect for the environment, the appreciation that sustainability is a necessity and the knowledge that well-crafted projects are timeless.
Having gained a considerable expertise in private domestic architecture, the practice recognises and assumes a responsibility to make a positive influence towards public architecture both now and for the future.
Francesco Pierazzi has worked for over twenty years making architecture internationally in Italy, Germany and now London.
Having studied in his hometown of Florence, Francesco apprenticed in Germany with Gerhard Aeckerle und Partners while working on the prestigious Parkhotel and Conference Center project in Pforzheim, before returning to Italy to practice architecture.
During his time in Italy he has worked on a variety of projects, ranging from high-end retail outlets to mixed-use schemes and one-off houses.
Whilst in Italy he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence and a teacher of Interior Design at the Art School Florence.
Francesco relocated to London in 2002 to join Charles Barclay Architects to work on high-end domestic projects throughout London. He played a significant role in many design international competitions – including the RIBA award winning Kielder Observatory in Northumberland.
He also worked at Brady Mallalieu Architects and Charles Tashima Architecture.
Francesco Pierazzi Architects was established in London in 2014, with a body of work that includes a variety of domestic projects both in London and abroad.
